York Area Regional police are warning residents to be on alert, after receiving several reports of roofing scams in the area.
Police did not release details of the scams, but did say you should be wary of anyone who approaches your home for unsolicited home improvement or purchasing opportunities.
Police said you shouldn't let anyone inside your home unless you're confident they're from a legitimate business. They also said you should not go outside of your home with a salesperson you don't trust.
Officers also warned about paying for any work without a contract.
Police said if someone tries to scam you or your neighbors, you should call 9-1-1.
