Amber and I went over to her father's house today to see his snakes. The snakes are a pair of ball pythons, both about five feet long. They are cute things even though for a lot of people, "cute" and "snake" don't belong together. If you're one of those people, scroll down to the previous entry. Miniature dachshunds are probably more to your liking.
I took several pictures of the snakes, including ones with them wrapped around Amber and I's necks. Just to warn my readers, I didn't ask Amber's permission to post these since she makes her grand appearance here, but Amber isn't the bashful type. It's more likely the snakes themselves would object than Amber would.
It is a strange sensation having a snake wrap itself around your neck. It was a first for me. I knew a guy at Ohio University who had a pet snake in the dorms even though he wasn't allowed to. If the RAs want to know who he was, sucks to be you. That one was only about a foot or so long when I saw it since I moved out of that dorm a few weeks later for unrelated reasons. The scales are a bit rough and obviously the snakes can be a bit huggy at times, but it's actually a lot of fun. If you ever get a chance to have the guys slither on you, take it. If you're scared of snakes, do it anyway. The pictures people will take of you will be a lot funnier that way. Thankfully Amber and I are both so brave that we're not afraid of things that anyone in their right mind would be afraid of. Technically that makes us more "reckless" and "stupid" than brave but no guts, no funny blog pictures.
The second weirdest part of the whole thing was when Amber and I left and gave the snakes back to her father. I had to get used to the sensation of there being nothing on my neck.
Of course, the weirdest part of all is everyone reading this wondering why anyone in their right mind would miss having a snake wrap itself around their neck.
Anyone in their right mind? You people do know whose blog you're reading, right?
